Hello all, Just a short update for you all about what I have been up to since my last post: Foot patrol has been the focus for me over the past week, and has yielded some good results. On 3rd June I came across a female who was suspected to have breached her Community Protection Notice as well as committing other offences and took her into custody. She will be appearing in court at a future date in relation to this incident. I have also made three other arrests of persons who I encountered whilst on the beat, for various theft and ASB-related offences. One of these was a male who was recognised as being wanted on a court warrant, and on searching him a large amount of suspected stolen goods (pictured below) were recovered which were thought to have just been stolen from a nearby store!I've visited a business within my ward who are being regularly targeted by shoplifters, to speak to staff and gain a better understanding of how I can target offenders at this location. This was very productive and I will be arranging a day of action in conjunction with store staff and colleagues to tackle this issue.Residents have raised concerns about ASB in coastal locations within my wards, so I have undertaken high visibility patrolling within these areas. I've also been dealing with reported neighbour disputes and other issues such as rural crime. On 9th June, I took part in a successful multi-agency operation on my ward which I helped organise alongside the Fair Work Agency, targeting businesses involved in unsafe and unregulated practises. Alongside partners from the Fair Work Agency, Health and Safety, Kent Fire and Rescue, HMRC and Southern Water, colleagues and I made unannounced visits aimed at safeguarding vulnerable workers and completing various checks. As a result, multiple prohibition notices were issued on unsafe equipment to protect the public and workers, a drugs search was carried out, immigration checks completed and fire safety advice given. Warning letters were also issued under the Water Industry Act by partner agencies, aimed at ensuring that our coastal areas are kept clean and wildlife protected. This sort of operation is really rewarding and I hope will have a positive impact on the area. As always, do get in touch if you need me. Please remember however to report crime through the Kent Police website or 101, as my emails are not monitored 24/7. Warm regards,
